Allenby Street.

Valley of Photography.

In its glory days (40's - 80's) Allenby street was one of the glamorous streets in Tel Aviv. For photography enthusiasts and professionals it was known as the 'valley of photography', with numerous photography businesses for equipment and supply.

Some 30 years later, Allenby is a neglected, unfashionable dusty street. In parallel, with the decline of the analog photography era, the glory of the 'valley of photography' had dried away.

Armed with a 60 years old 4/5 film camera, I went to document the relics of the photography businesses that somehow survived.

This project took place on the summer of 2017.

Sadly, since then some these business owners had passed away.

Pictures taken with a DelMonta TLR 6X6 analog camera.

The book 'Valley of Photography' is available in Hebrew.
